Independent Label Advantages
- Letting the artist stay original and true to the music
- It is about the music not the image
- They have control over their own sound
- Given freedom & are able to create their own unique image
Independent Label Disadvantages
- Not likely to make as much money as a mainstream artist
- Don't have a big audience
- Limited resources given to them
- Music not often heard globally
Mainstream Label Advantages
- Global audience
- Making lots of money
- Connection with other famous artist signed to the same label
- Have money to spend on music video
Mainstream Label Disadvantages
- Not a lot of freedom when it comes to music
- Can get dropped easily from the record label if not selling
- Artist are manufactured {Made to sell records}

Research - Favourite Previous Student Video (Blog 8)
Favourite Previous Student Video
My favourite previous student video is by Group 4 (Emmanuel, Ariadna, Yuksel, Joshua). I feel like like the transitions used in this video are really effective. Examples of the transitions they used were: fades to white and then pan down from the white sky and when the camera pans to the left into the next scene. Also, i feel like the costumes were really effective. The costumes were very simple just black and white but it really had an effect as it played with the lyrics, 'the other side'.
