Research - YouGov Profiler (Task 7)

Artist Name: Ed Sheeran

The typical target audience of Ed Sheerans.

Blog Task 5 - Carol Vernallis

Carol Vernallis States that:

Narrative in music video is not always complete
Music Videos are not always balanced between narrative and performance
Music Videos dont always have narrative resolution at the end
Music Videos often pose questions in the narrative that are not answered within the video

A music video which includes examples of jump cuts , obvious edits and multiple close ups is Ariana Grande Problem ft Iggy Azalea

First example of a edit is the collage of Iggy Azalea. This is an unusual edit because majority of the music videos now don't include three way split screens within music videos.

Close ups are presented of the artists themselves. This is effective because it portrays their importance within the music video as they're continuously being focused on.

Blog Task 6- Laura Mulvey's Theory

Laura Mulvey states that...

Men are inpower more than women. We live in an unbalanced world sexually. Men are actively looking at women due to them being presented in a manner in which they should be seen as a sexualy fantasy in eyes of men.

An example would be 'dizzy rascal holiday"

Many different shot types are used within this music video.
Close ups of womans bums and bodies
Dismembering (cutting out faces)
Old men looking at women

Blog Task 7- YouGov Profiler

Above shows where Ella Eyres fans are located. This is important as Ella Eyre as a artist will know specifically who her target audiences are.
The importance of knowing where your fans known as target audiences are located will also give her comfort as an artist to be able to see what kind of areas and people she targets so that way she can try and cater for all her fans needs possibly, the type of music video she makes or the type of lyrics she writes.

Blog Task 3 - Function Of A Music Video

An example of a music video in which I feel is a really good music video would be Sia Chandelier. My reason for this is that it's extremely creative and imaginative in comparison to other music videos I've recently watched, for example Nicki Minaj superbass which has a representation of a sex object.

The pictures below are different segments of the music video Chandelier. I chose this because eventhough it's just one person within the music video it's still extremely effective in many different ways: the dance moves... we tend to just focus on the movement of the young girl as thats the only thing which is presented within the music video, but it doesn't get boring.
